Radioactive Comics and Games
The Radioactive Comics and Games project required for chemgebra students to create a tabletop game or comic book for Comic and Collectibles that would promote awareness and interest. The product must have been based on realistic fiction or hard science fiction and involve probability and strategy. In addition, the concept of radiation must have been the central story.
The “Radioactive Comics and Games” Project helped me grow in the areas of Content Knowledge and Design Thinking because in order to complete the project, my group and I had to create an idea and design various prototypes of our board game. Before beginning the creation of the board game, I doubted my skills in Content Knowledge and Design Thinking because I thought that I would be incapable of creating a playable board game. When my group and I began to create the game, coming up with the visual design and gameplay, I realized that by focusing and truly trying, I could collaborate with my group to create a board game. Playing other board games and using them as a foundation really helped to create ideas. Once the foundation was created, Design Thinking and Content Knowledge became much easier. Now that I have done the project, I believe that my skills in Content Knowledge and Design Thinking have improved and I have gained confidence in them. The “Radioactive Comics and Games” project has helped me learn that I am capable of creating.
