The part I found most challenging would was completing the trial preparation sheet. I had trouble finding information that would be good for both for and against the accused. I also found that contributing with my partners to complete it was hard. Even though my group and I managed to complete the trial preparation sheet, I do feel we could of done better if we had began the work sooner and collaborated more while at home.
I feel that, for the most part, my group and I collaborated very well. In the beginning, we had trouble completing assignments ahead of time, one of the reasons being our group member Markiah. I believe that we were all having trouble collaborating because we had never worked with each other. Communicating with my group members was also hard in the beginning because I didn't want to seem demanding, although they knew I was by the end of the project. Later on in the project we began to collaborate better, calling each other, getting on Google docs together, and even staying after school. Overall, I think each of use pulled out weight and helped complete our work successfully.
I believe we did a good job on our presentation. I was glad that we were prepared and practice with each other after school, because that helped give us more confidence during the presentation. We also worked together to right down notes and questions for cross examination while the defense's witness was giving their testimony. I also felt that we were nervous during our presentation, which made our voices low and shaky. Also, when reading the opening and closing statements, Abraham and I skipped parts that had good information. To have avoided this, we could have practiced reading the statements louder and more thoroughly.
I think I stretched myself in trying to write opening and closing statements that conveyed emotion and painted a picture. When it came to the presentation, I couldn’t find a way to express emotion through my voice. Most presentations don’t require emotion, so this was the most challenging to achieve.
I believe this project fulfilled all of the learning outcomes except for critical design thinking. This project fulfilled written proficiency because a large part of our presentation required for us to have written a statement that would communicate to the readers our reasoning and beliefs. Both the opening and closing statements needed to communicate clearly through our writing, fulfilling written proficiency. Our trial presentation was an essential part of the project and it fulfilled oral communication. Collaboration and work ethic were covered throughout the whole project because in order to complete the project we had to complete the deliverables and work together.
